Linda Fredriksson - Juniper

There are a number of young female saxophonists emerging from Europe this past decade. Leading the charge is the fearless free jazz practitioner Anna Hogberg from Sweden, Maria Dybbroe from Denmark being a composition tour de force working in both Copehangen and Oslo, and the very up and coming Ornella Oulett from France is carrying the torch of Coltrane-patented spiritual jazz.

Linda Fredriksson is a Finnish sax woman who takes a songwriter approach on her jazz discourse. Cerebral and cinematic at times, Juniper is a very accessible piece of work that earned her both the Teosto and Jazz Emma awards in 2022.
