aki is one our favorite bands from the Belgium label W.E.R.F. which has been releasing many progressive genre blending jazz music.

Sextet aki is led by drummer / composer Anke Verslype. With clarinetist Joachim Badenhorst on the roster, the group executes Verslype's atmospheric composition within a constrained improvisational framework. No ten minute solo, on point chamber jazz harmony and picturesque continental European warmth.
